Shelton-Rynd House - 1997
Site: Gently south sloping forested terrain adjacent to riparian zone.

Criteria: Wheel Chair accessible entry, main floor and patio, energy efficiency, two bedroom, two bath, multi-function "away space", mountain views

Design: Earth bermed, passive solar, high mass, high insulation standards. Logs, recycled fir beams and exposed rafters, river rock accents, hexagonal organic form with shingle siding blends into site.

Size: 2100 s.f.


Windhaven - 2000
Site: Open-benched terrain overlooking ponds and riparian zone to south.

Criteria: Energy-efficient upscale private lodge suitable for family gatherings, 5 bedrooms with private baths, master suite, outdoor connections.

Design: Daylight basement, passive solar, high insulation standards, structural log frame, two story octagonal living room with log spiral stair to balconied loft and river rock fireplace. Stepped hip roofs, angled foot print and cedar siding with river rock skirt allow the house to be part of the terrain.

Size: 9200 s.f.


Chaundy House - 1988
Site: Open bench with sloping terrain to lake and view to North

Criteria: Upscale home for entertaining family and guests with outdoor space, oriented to lake, master suite and two guestrooms


Design: Conventional frame structure with exposed beams and rafters, 1 1/2 story fir paneled living room with stone fireplace, daylight basement with guest room and sheltered patio with barbecue facing lake. Cedar shake roof, cedar siding and stone skirt hold the house to its site.

Size: 3600 s.f.


Nourse - Gilbertson House - 1985
Site: Small bowl on Southwest facing bench overlooking river and mountain views.

Criteria: Energy efficient rustic, two bedroom log cabin

Design: Earth bermed, passive solar, high mass, octagonal organically scribed and fitted full log walls, posts, beams, and rafters. Stepped floor levels follow the terrain to outdoor spaces.

Size: 2200 s.f.


Kilby House - 2001
Site: Flat valley floor with surrounding mountains

Criteria: Energy efficient, traditional timber frame with structural insulated panels, two bedroom, two bath, office, den, porches

Design: Hybrid traditional timber frame with structural insulated panel for main house, conventional frame garage and shop, structural insulated panel connector with laundry and mudroo

Size: 4000 s.f.


Joslin Cottage - 1985
Site: Rolling foothills above and with views to Chewuch River Valley

Criteria: Vacation home, country-cottage feeling, three bedroom, two bath, porches for outdoor living area

Design: Conventional frame, exposed beams, well insulated with solar orientation, hipped gable roof and dormer with porch on three sides, natural finish on cedar siding

Size: 1600 s.f.
